Martell Malone

CEO | Compiler of Things

Martell is the architect of Marine Layer, he guides the team in the development process on all the technical and business aspects. He has worked on many high profile open source projects such as llvm, clang, the vlc media player and open broadcaster studio just to name a few. Working across Europe and the US he has a very broad experience in different media across the tech industry.


He enjoys spending his time writing the tech that other people use worldwide on a daily basis and has been involved in advising several startups in Ireland along with writing highly complicated tech for US startups to help them reach further rounds of funding.

Leo Flaherty

Developer | Worrier

Marine Layer’s Backend Developer and Scrum Master, Leo codes and engineers the many different parts of the Marine Layer stack. A graduate of Ballyfermot College of Further Education with a BTEC HND in Digital Media and LIT Thurles with a BSc (Hons) in Computing (Games Design and Development), Leo has a broad experience of many different kinds of software development.


With professional experience in app server development, website development, cross-platform games development, native mobile app development on multiple platforms and database administration, Leo has a breadth of experience that allows him to wear many hats!

Christy Carroll

Developer | Cloud Watcher

Christy focuses on developing tools to aid with Marine Layer's cloud interaction. A graduate of LIT Thurles with a BSc (Hons) in Computing (Games Design and Development), Christy has experience with software development on an array of platforms.


Christy has taken part in numerous development events and competitions ranging from games jams to LIT Thurles' Games Fleadh to Microsoft's Imagine Cup. This has given him the opportunity to work on a large variety of projects with a wide array of developers and has not only helped improve his development skills along the way but also provided a collection of free t-shirts.
